The text bullying of a Rotorua teenager who took her own life after receiving a series of abusive texts from her boyfriend's wife has prompted a coroner to call for a new law.Hayley-Ann Fenton was 15 when she took her own life by taking her father's heart medication after receiving threatening text messages from Pelesasa Tuimalu's wife, Elina. Her death has prompted Coroner Wallace Bain to call for a law change which would cover new forms of cyber communication, particularly cyber bullying.
How will any new cyber bullying laws be able to be enforced when you have people running around the internet making comments like these examples - under false names and anonymously - as i have witnessed and experienced.
Despite the fact that i feel like this filth pollutes my blog - i am going to show it.
None of those comments were directed at me. I do not frequent the awful website that those comments were made on. Ironically though - they were made on "New Zealand's number 1 dating and friendship" website - NZDating aka on Wonderful Now as - Don't. Go. There.
I don't know the woman who those comments were directed at - or anything about her - other than her name that was on the email address that she sent me those from and what she confided in me during our email exchange.
I am just using those comments as examples of what kind of bullying goes on every single day - and of the type of person that the women that i am currently having issues with are willing to associate with in order to succeed in their legal bullying and their vendetta against me.
I know how that woman must have felt when she read those examples of cyber bullying that i gave above - because i have had very similar comments left on my blog - anonymously over the last few months - particularly in the last few weeks - calling me names such as "crackwhore" and a "parasite" and calling me "batshit crazy" - an uncommon phrase that was used in those examples above.
How will the Police be able to enforce any new cyber bullying laws when there are gutless people out there that run around the internet behaving like this - anonymously?
Do we have enough Police in this country to deal with this issue?
What is the point in new laws if they are darn near impossible to enforce?
Any change will be good change i guess.
Presently it seems to be the victims who have the law used against them if or when they respond to the bullying. Kind of not unlike that woman - Melissa Anderson - who got prosecuted for assaulting a girl who beat the crap out of her daughter.
Fight back against bullies and you end up in trouble in this country.
The whole thing is totally screwed. Personally I would like to go back to the days before cell phones or the internet.
Life was peaceful back then.
That seems like the easiest fix to me and about as realistic or possible as policing any new cyber laws will be.
Although - life has been sweet and peaceful since earlier today when i warned that i was going to publish every nasty comment i received - instead of deleting.
Happy days.
Oh and Dear 219.89.74.74 Your silly proxy things do not hide you - or the fact that you have visited my blog 150 times in the last 40 hours.
You are going to have to find something else to try to mask your stalking and harassment of me.
Seriously - What the heck is wrong with these people...
