Waitangi Day should be renamed

Honestly. It doesn't matter if Labour is in power, or National is in power. It doesn't matter what our government has done or what it hasn't done. It doesn't matter who the Prime Minister is. It doesn't matter who is up at Waitangi for the day or who isn't. It doesn't matter what has been sold or what has been kept  - it's always the SAME SH*T - different year.

Waitangi: PM rues lost opportunity

Overwhelming protest action forced the Prime Minister to cut short his visit to Te Tii Marae this morning, where Govt-affiliated Maori MPs were singled out for racial abuse.

And just like every other Waitangi Day - I am going to join most of New Zealand in not caring about the meaning of the day and head out to do something with family - like another free concert in the park. I will be doing my best to avoid watching the idiots up North compete to get their idiot faces on the news.

For at least the 22 or so odd years that i have lived in New Zealand it has been exactly the same. Every. Single. Year.
