Quote of the Day - 8

Ok ok so it is really a "comment of the day" rather than a quote - but i saw this on another blog and it just screamed out to be shared.

It would appear that in the case of Kim Dotcom - the Police, the Media, and some blogs - are not letting the truth get in the way of a good story.

So i think i will do my best to get in their way.

I have nothing against the Police. I love the Police. But there is a whole lot in that comment that i have to agree with in this case.

Food for thought anyway - just in case you are one of the many people out there that are buying what the media are reporting, and have a vision in your head of some mafia dude being busted with a houseful of cash and firearms while snorting cocaine off a hooker's butt from a spa pool full of strippers - like the media would like us to believe.

I found this old news item from last year regarding Kim Dotcom's criminal history - or lack there of.

It would seem that our government was happy to let Kim Dotcom buy ten million dollars worth of government bonds. He had a good enough character to donate a large sum of money to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal, and the Auckland City Council was also happy to take one million dollars worth of fireworks off of Mr. Dotcom for the 2010 - 2011 New Years Celebrations in Auckland - but he just didn't have quite a good enough character for Simon Power to allow him to purchase property here.

What. The. Heck?!?

Does the New Zealand Government taking all that money off Dotcom when they thought he was a criminal make them guilty of receiving proceeds of crime, or stolen property? I wonder if the FBI will sue the New Zealand government to get some of that money back.
