Expect Good Things From God

'The eyes of all look expectantly to You...' Psalm 145:15 NKJV

When God introduced Himself to Abraham He went by the name El Shaddai, which means God Almighty, the all-sufficient'. And today God is saying to you, 'I will be all you need!' Now you know that God is able, but don't you sometimes wonder if He's willing? Simply having a revelation of God's ability is not enough; you must also believe that He will, in order to put a solid foundation under your faith.

One day a leper came to Jesus saying, 'If you will, you can heal my disease.' Jesus revealed His heart by saying, 'I will' (Mark 1:40-42 NKJV). Don't allow Satan to convince you that God may or may not take care of you. The Bible says, '...God shall supply all your need...' (Philippians 4:19 NKJV). Notice, the Bible doesn't say, 'God is power,' it says, 'God is love.' It focuses on His willingness to use His power, rather than the power itself. Because God has a heart of love, He will use His power to meet your needs.

God actually gets great pleasure out of meeting your needs. 'The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works...The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing' (Psalm 145:8-9; 15-16 NKJV). God may not answer your prayer in the way you think He should or when you think He should, but if you trust Him He will answer in the way that's best for you.

Where is the sunshine? It is January 17th and i am still waiting for a sunny day. The T and ignored the clouds yesterday and headed down to the beach for a swim at high tide. I ended up with an ear ache from the cold wind.

Today is no better - in fact i think it is worse.

Luckily we have other things to do today. It has been well over two years since the T last did that hideous drug, and this past week he has passed his one year milestone since he last had a drink. I am so proud of him. Not that it has seemed like a difficult task for him. He is a bit like me in that respect. It seems that he just made the decision that enough was enough and that was it - no looking back. Still - it is something to celebrate so today i am going to drop my girls off at the movies then the T and i are going to head into Ponsonby to an NA meeting so that he can get his cool little "One year clean and serene" key ring.

VERY exciting stuff.

It is hard to believe that it is nearly three years for me - since i left that hideous drug and that life behind. Time has flown. I used the first two years to just recover - and now this year is going to be so exciting and full of planning and working towards an amazing future with my children - and the T and his tribe.

Jorgie just came into my room to ask me if her outfit to wear to the movies looks OK. I am so cool. My mother was the LAST person that i would ask if something looked OK. ;)

I am receiving good things from God.

VERY good things :)

Ha! deleted the other one! haha x

May every blessing and grace be yours. May joy, and delight fill your home. May daily problems not vex you unduly, nor desire for earthly possessions dominate your life. May you have true friends to stay by you in joy, and sorrow. May your children return your love many times over. With a wise, and generous heart , may you help all who come to you in need of comfort. May you reach a ripe old age, content for having lived a life of goodness, and worth.
