Holmes on Laws on Paralympics Kiwiblog
A good discussion regarding Paul Holmes' column that i thought i would share. I was enjoying just reading it - and not commenting until i saw this comment...
...and well - we all know how good i am at keeping my trap shut when it comes to attitudes like that.
It is that attitude and hearing words like that - that kept me in that life until i nearly died and was given no choice but to give up or get better. It was hearing that recovery is impossible that hindered me for so long.
The only thing that benefits from attitudes like the one above - is the profits of the rehab industry. Attitudes like that make me sick and i will always speak out about them because i will never, ever forget how hearing things like that nearly killed me.
The P problem in New Zealand is so much worse than most people can even comprehend and if just one person realises that recovery is not only possible - but is easy - from hearing what i have to say when i read crap like Cha's comments then maybe one person will change their life - and THAT will make everything i have been through - worth it.
Cha's comments are a blessing - they give me an excuse to speak out.
