City braced for gang tensions

City braced for gang tensions - Yahoo!Xtra News

Nelson police will be keeping a close eye on a charity motorcycle ride today amid threats from gangs.

The Southern Skinheads have threatened to attack Hells Angels members if they take part in the Poker Run from Nelson to Tapawera and back. Skinheads president "Max" told Newstalk ZB that the Hells Angels are not welcome because they will bring the drug P with them.

"We will burn any pub they drink at, any motel they stay at and may take it to the extent we will probably try to shoot them off their motorbikes."

The issue has been discussed by the Nelson City Council and police are urging locals not to be intimidated.

The Poker Run from the Turf Hotel in Stoke attracted more than 200 bikers last year. The pub has reportedly pulled out of the event this year.

Oh yeaahhhhh ...cause committing more crimes like arson and murder, is going to make the Hells Angels and their P issues look so bad. Way to go stupid skinheads...all your threats have done is make you look worse then the P dealers.

Way to minimise a very serious issue. This just makes me so angry. Those pathetic "Southern Skinheads" are doing nothing more than using a very very serious social issue that destroys people's lives...as an excuse to fight with a rival gang, and get some media attention.

Well done. They got what they wanted.

Just awesome.
