We are having the most amazing time

I slept last night. All night, without waking up. I woke up feeling amazing this morning. It's so silent here, at night, and so dark. In Auckland, there are always noises, and always lights...no matter what time of the day it is.

Not down here. There are no street lights outside Orlando's place...and there are no cars or trains speeding past, to wake me up. I love it down here.

It was a beautiful, and hot day when we arrived yesterday. Orlando met us at the airport. It was so amazing to see him again. We hugged forever. He lifts me right off my feet, and hugs me almost as hard as my Grandpa Sperling used to hug me. I love it.

We stopped by Sharon's and Greg's place before we left Christchurch, for a coffee. It was so good to see Sharon, after all this time. Greg was at work, but i will see him on Monday. It's so amazing to see my old friends.

We then, headed to Timaru. Orlando dragged me along to some thing called Super cross ...or something like that. Basically it was really loud dirt bikes racing each other and flying through the air. I really wanted to get a photo or some video shots of the dirt bike racing...It was pretty cool and apparently that is a big sport down here. There were a lot of people there. I got covered, head to toe in dust, and the sun was scorching hot. It was good fun, but eventually we both felt like we were losing our hearing, because it is so loud, and headed home.

I met Orlando's flatmate, who is a lovely chick, about the same age as me. She is really nice. I made us Tracey's world famous enchiladas for dinner last night. They went down a treat, and i think Julie, the flatmate wants me to move down here, just so i can cook for her every night. haha

Orlando, rode around the section on his quad bike, collecting rubbish and putting it all in a huge hole that he had dug, to burn it. Apparently it was a perfect, nice and still evening for burning rubbish. That was until about 10pm when north westerlies started blowing a gale. Man they get some mean wind down here! He had to keep going out to check the fire during the night...and i slept through it all!

I love it. Nixon does too. I think he is tired from all the excitement though. Julie has a dog as well...and so does Orlando, so he has had friends to play with as well. I found it amusing, how all three of us have such different dogs. All beautiful and good natured dogs, but all so different.

I will get photos of all 3. It's pretty funny though, all three of the dogs, kind of have the same personalities as their owners. Funny how that works out...isn't it?

We spent this morning and most of this afternoon visiting and having lunch with Orlando's friends...and their 3 daughters. They live on a dairy farm...so that was cool. It's so nice to be meeting new people, and enjoying meeting them and spending time with others, and not feeling so uncomfortable, like i always did around the Baillies. Not once, have i felt disliked, like i always felt around them. It's awesome.

Like Orlando said to me this morning...down here, i am just Jackie from Auckland...and nothing else. That alone...is an awesome feeling. It's like having a clean slate.

We are going to have a lazy afternoon and evening now, i think...well i am. Orlando is out in the paddock, collecting horse poop!!! I'm happy to watch him do that, from the comfort of his dining room table, while i play on the internet. haha

I wish i could stay here forever.

Tomorrow, we are off to Mount Hood. Will update more when i am able to! x
